Sweetbea Paperie

Notes from the Artist:
I have been creating since I was a small child. Art class was always my favorite. However, it wasn't until 2005 that I started making cards. Once I started, there was no stopping me. I enjoy using unique color combinations and different textures. I love beautiful papers, unique embellishments and making them come together in a mini work of art.

The Paper Princess

Notes from the Artist:
My husband and I are blessed in that we inherited a lot of old family slides and photos. One day while flipping through them, I found myself mesmerized by the details and character of these photos. As a way of breathing new life into these photos, I thought it would be fun to add some of my illustrations to the foreground. So old photos + new illustrations = just right!

QuirkynBerkeley

Notes from the Artist:
I'd rather serve one person ten times than ten people once. I love color, paper and glue and get completely absorbed in making cards for hours. Each one is new and unique. Right now, I'm working my way through the bits and pieces of ephemera that have come into my studio during the last year, transfiguring them into a single piece held together by a little glue, a lot of ideas, practice and work, but mostly a great amount of joy.

towhee

Notes from the Artist:
my shop is all about nature inspired fiberworks, oil paintings + paper goods. the images featured on the cards shown here are duplications of my original gilded oil paintings. these are just a few of the many birds that visit the feeder just outside my kitchen window every day. i hope to include a selection of original oil paintings in my shop sometime this summer, so please check back every once in a while for new stuff.

fleegirl creations

Notes from the Artist:
I never thought of myself as artistic by any stretch of the imagination, but have always loved sharing crafts with my children and others. Well, my children are grown now and I fell into paper crafts accidentally. I still have the privilege of sharing crafts with my grandchildren and sharing my creativity with many others. I love knowing that someone picked out one of greeting cards to share with someone they love.

MineCreations

Notes from the Artist:
I've wanted a sewing machine since I was a little girl, but was always intimidated since my mom didn't use one and wouldn't have been able to teach me. I finally got the kick in the behind that I needed when my boyfriend bought me one for my birthday. I've been making cards ever since! I love the way the fabric and different stitches my machine makes look on paper- it's such an unusual, yet simple decoration for notecards. Check out my blog: minecreations.blogspot.com for my latest adventures in cardmaking and more!

KarenKayArtworks

Notes from the Artist:
My designs are inspired by songs, nature, and just plain ordinary everyday life. This card was inspired by Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" and is my best selling card to date. It is also my all time favorite song but I tear up everytime I hear it!

candyragz

Notes from the Artist:
candyragz evolved from my love to create and make projects of all sorts, especially gifts. Most of my items are "one of a kind", as I most love the challenge of creating somthing new and unique each time. I think one of the sweetest things in our day to day lives is receiving a hand made card. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

things are better with a parrot

Notes from the Artist:
Simply beautiful. That is what I want people to think when they see my work. My designs reflect my love of vintage prints, patterns, & imagery, as well as nature - flowers, plants, & birds. I want people to see my greetings & stationery as small pieces of art to send others or to save for themselves. All my greetings, stationery, & prints are screenprinted & handmade by me with my gocco. Printing with a gocco is an amazing way to print large quantities of anything, yet still maintaining the handmade quality. Each note comes with a brown kraft envelope that is 100% recycled using post consumer waste for environmentally friendly mailing, which I believe to be very important. Everything is packaged in a glassine bag for protection, though I try to keep packaging down to a minimum to reduce waste & to let the work speak for itself.

51 Greenwich Handwoven Cards

Notes from the Artist:
Fascination with simple geometric patterns and color adjacencies/overlays identifies my work. I started constructing cards without glues, over 10 years ago, and because I sold mostly wholesale, refined my 'weaving' process considerably! Each design consists of dense random as well as geometric patterns, optical illusions and icon images which are cut, layered and woven together. Every card design ( that makes it off the test table ) is offset printed using recycled cover stock with soy inks and paired with recycled paper envelopes.

Paper Lotus

Notes from the Artist:
Paper Lotus Design Group is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma but we feature work from artists all over the place. We make mostly printed cards right now but we do feature hand-made ones from time to time. Our work is pretty varied - it ranges from traditional European designs to, well, kind of weird. We've got monkeys that dream of lipstick, gingerbread men gone bad, and hedgehogs that drink too much coffee. We all have a few things in common: we love making things, and we love paper!

Little Bit Funky

Notes from the Artist:
For years I have been making and giving cards as gifts to friends and family but it wasn't until after the birth of my son, when I was in a state of being redefined, that I began to toy with the idea of doing more with my hobby. While I love and adore being a stay at home mom, I also need a further sense of who I am and have found that etsy does well at being that outlet. I love to create and use everything around me as inspiration. One of those inspirations is that I love getting good mail and encouraging others to stay connected with a good old fashioned, handwritten note!

Feature: Haley's Handmades

Notes from the Artist:
These handmade greeting cards are laser printed and handcolored on 80# coverweight paper. The design, drawn by me, is based on Grant Wood's painting American Gothic. Each card is 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches and the envelope is size A2, 4-3/8 x 5-3/4 inches. It comes in a set of 8 and are tied with a ribbon.

Feature: Handcrafted by Crystal

Notes from the Artist:
For me, cardmaking was a natural progression from my scrapbooking hobby and all the papers and embellishments I love to collect. My designs tend to reflect my personality—typically classic and linear with a little something out-of-the-box thrown in every now and then. I love the idea that the naked insides of my cards can help to preserve written communication between friends. In this day of e-mails and prepackaged sentiments, there is something refreshing about receiving a hand-written note, and a carefully handmade card is simply icing on the cake.

Feature: fubabee

Notes from the Artist:
One of the hardest things to do as a designer is to create something that is outside of my comfort zone. I'm a very "clean-lines" type of a gal, but I've been pushing myself to do something I don't normally do. The result? A new monogrammed series. Romantic. Pretty. Feminine. Ornate. (hahaha so not me!)

Feature: gollyg

Notes from the Artist:
Behind the works of gollyg is a small town girly girl (and her darling dachshund) living in an inner-ring suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. Having a love for anything vintage, whimsical, feminine, and funky, I enjoy designing fun and eclectic pieces. I hope you adore everything as much as I do.

Feature: Halo Designs

Notes from the Artist:
I love this card because not all brides are the white dress type.
I would really love for my shop to be the go to place for things that go against the grain. I have never been the type to do what everyone else is doing and I am currently working on my shop reflecting that.

Feature: time2cre8

Notes from the Artist:
I love to create all sorts of things, and I've recently become obsessed with paper and cards. While I create a lot of my own artwork, I fell in love with some vintage images I found that depict all sorts of different (and some very strange) animals in very detailed renderings. When I found the image of a raven I couldn't resist making little notecards using this black bird, as I've always been a fan of Edgar Allen Poe. Now I've begun making large cards featuring these 'Captioned Critters' of mine. The raven was the first of many critters to be featured, and I'm constantly finding new ones, so keep your eyes peeled. Don't you wish you knew what critters were saying and thinking? :-)

Feature: Tracy Chong

Notes from the Artist:
Many years ago, my cousin introduced me to the art of origamic architecture (pop-ups) by Masahiro Chatani. I was fascinated by how a single piece of paper could transform into a beautiful three dimensional object with just a series of cuts and folds. Today, I design my own pop-up cards and it is even more rewarding to see a design in my mind, and with the same cuts and folds, have it come to life from a blank sheet of card.

Feature: Three Dog Party

Notes from the Artist:
Threedogparty evolved out of a compulsion to craft, a love of stationary, and the desire to share our creations with the masses. We are consummate ephemera-addicts (with a penchant for dumpster diving) whose philosophy is "Craft fast, die old, and leave a messy room!" We think "stationary" is a major misnomer, as great cards and letter-sets really help to set our imaginations and sentiments in motion....We love knowing that our cards will embark on some kind of wonderful journey linking hearts and minds together.

Feature: ValerieCards

Notes from the Artist:
Flowers never fail to make me smile. And I hope to spread this joy with people around me or even people from afar through cards. I named this card ‘Whirlwind Flowers’ because the flowers in this card appear to be moving with the wind and spreading joy to others. I have cut out these flowers by hand and made them appear 3-D.

When you step into my shop, you will see a colourful world. I love to make bright and colourful looking cards and gift tags. To me, a colourful world represents a hopeful one. Since I have started making my first card years back, the passion never ceased. Also, I see it as a sharing when I am given the opportunity to do custom orders. I have yet to have the chance, so I certainly hope to see one coming soon. Thank You.

Feature: Chow Mein Paper

Notes from the Artist:
Chow Mein Paper represents my unique assortment of handmade greeting cards, notecards, and gift tags. All of my cards are made meticulously by hand and each design choice is deliberate. I use a delicious assortment of high-quality cardstock and embellish each card with ribbon and glitter to add a bit of texture to each one.

The card I choose is from my Tootsie Roll Collection. It's a brown and pink Happy Birthday Card and Gift Tag Set. I just love the look of my lace-up design. It incorporates two main colors with a ribbon to tie it all together, literally!

Feature: Bailey Bowls

Notes from the Artist:
I have so many card ideas bouncing in my head - this was one of them. I've done origami ever since I was a little kid. I did a set of Hawaiian origami shirt notecards, so naturally, a dress would be a nice compliment. ; )

Feature: Bibi Cute Place

Notes from the Artist:
I love playing with colors and papers, mix and match and try to make them look great. working with paper is my passion.
In Vietnam, we had a home-based-business store that sell all kind of things, I was the one in charge of making and selling greeting cards. Then my family moved to the United States, making card and create stuff out of paper help me reduced stress and obtain a little income for my paper addiction...
I love Japanese culture and I am planning to shift my creation to a different level later on. check out my shop for more...^_^

Feature: Angeline Petalfoot

Notes from the Artist:
If this card was a human, I would want to be her friend. She’d be effortlessly stylish, composed, & ecclectic. She’d know all the best new bands, and would go to see the ones she is passionate about. She’d be from Sweeden & giggle that scandanavian prints are “all the rage” ‘cuz her grandma had been embroidering them into her hemlines for years.
Her name would be ‘Sassa’.

My paper products here at the ‘Angeline Petalfoot Studio’ (a.k.a. my kitchen) are always designed with someone in mind. I find that it helps to personify a design or print - it really comes to life for me, and I know there is someone in this world who will love it. Sometimes my designs personify a friend or family member of mine, or like this print, it’s a made up friend. I don’t think one can ever be too old for imaginary friends. :)

Feature: Art by Betty Refour

Notes from the Artist:
For as long as I can remember I loved to draw and I loved sending cards. But believe it or not it never occurred to me to put the two together until a friend asked me to design a card for her Baby Shower. This is the card that I came up with.
That was eight years ago and I started my line of cards shortly thereafter. No matter what designs I add or discontinue this card will always be a part of my line.

Feature: A + A Studio

Notes from the Artist:
A + A Studio is professionally trained architects with a love for paper arts. We started creating cards well over 10 years ago when we couldn't find a card that expressed what we wanted to say with any design sense at all and so.. we began to create our own. We knew we were successful when friends and colleagues began to tell us how much they anticipated our next Christmas greeting. We now design over 100 Christmas cards each year. We strive to provide a high quality product that will help others celebrate those special moments in life.

Feature: J Fleur Designs

Notes from the Artist:
Art and creativity is so important to me. I love making original cards... there's something very special about crafting greetings that no one has ever seen before, being completely unique! I enjoy making announcements & custom cards most since it seems to be the most personal kind of stationery. Sending a handmade card to friends and family, to me, is extremely special- and I wholeheartedly promote it!

Feature: Luv Bug Creations

Notes from the Artist:
I think this is my favorite set of cards. They are so fun, funky, and bright ... just like me! I believe they are perfect for nearly anyone. Teens, moms to be, birthday gals, bride to be. The felt flowers give it the extra added touch it needs.

I have been crafting all my life in one way or another. And I love to try and learn new techniques and different areas in the crafty world. I love to feel the paper on my fingers and have the ideas run thru my head and watch them come to life. I love to have a challenge and do many custom orders. It's a passion.

Feature: Fraskedesigns

Notes from the Artist:
This is a digital collage representing the theme 'phoenix.' I chose to define phoenix as "a person or thing of peerless beauty or excellence" and thus created this image of my mother. I took a scan of an old photo of her and combined it with other scanned textures and completed the collage with some digital manipulation.

I love to work in mixed media, both traditional and digital, because I love to exhaust all of my creative options! In many cases, I feel like my work is never done... this current image has been reworked several times. I really enjoy manipulating and restoring old photos to create new artworks!
