Petal Person - Santa

This Santa was created entirely from real pressed flowers, ferns and leaves that I grew in my garden, picked at the height of color and then pressed for many weeks. Once dried, I arranged the botanicals into this sweet Santa, then made the artwork into printed cards.

His face is a Bleeding Heart; his beard is Bridal Wreath blossoms; the fur trim is Queen Anne's Lace and his belt is a maple leaf. His belt buckle is a tiny Verbena blossom and everything red is either a leaf from a Burning Bush or a petal from a Clematis vine growing up my house. He holds a fern in his hands.

The holiday spirit is in the air...

This jolly greeting card measuring 6 1/2"" by 3 1/4"" comes with a coordinating craft colored envelope. The inside is blank but I can easily add a holiday sentiment if you like. Santa's hat has tinsel glitter for added interest. The confetti white layer is on dimensional tape to showcase Santa's jolly face. Double stitched grosgrain ribbon wraps it up just right.

This is a color, set of 5 Holiday greeting cards. The circle sentiment says, ""Happy Holidays,"" so it is not specific to one single holiday. The main colors are red and olive green. There is a swirl stamped in the lower left hand corner. The inside of the card has a white layer, so you can easily write a message. There is no sentiment stamped on the inside. Card size is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2"" and they come with matching, high quality envelopes.

This is one of a three botanical watercolor paintings I did for my home. I made each one into a separate card. Evergreen trees remind me of winter. They are steadfast through rain, wind and snow. In my front yard stand two huge old Redwood trees. Sentinels of the West Coast. This small branch is a delicate bit of that stately tree. Just a few sprigs of green and two pine cones, yet after a good rain they give the unmistakable smell of winter.

Send your Holiday greetings up, up and away with this merry Christmas card featuring Santa in an old fashioned hot air balloon.

Set on an olive green cardstock background, the coordinating red and cream patterned papers arranged on the front of the card bring warm holiday colors and cheer to the card. The edges of all the patterned cardstocks have been torn then distressed with a tea stain ink to give them an aged, antique look and texture. Printed on the front-most patterned paper is an image of Santa in an old fashioned hot air balloon with an array of red and white roses, holly and berries. A piece of tulle is tied in a knot around the patterned cardstocks with a decorated pewter brad in the center. “Merry & Bright” is stamped in a red ink at the top of the card embellished with three small green glitter dots.
