Notes from the Artist:
This is a digital collage representing the theme 'phoenix.' I chose to define phoenix as "a person or thing of peerless beauty or excellence" and thus created this image of my mother. I took a scan of an old photo of her and combined it with other scanned textures and completed the collage with some digital manipulation.
I love to work in mixed media, both traditional and digital, because I love to exhaust all of my creative options! In many cases, I feel like my work is never done... this current image has been reworked several times. I really enjoy manipulating and restoring old photos to create new artworks!
