1) Birthday, Christmas, and Thank You--now that I have a child, I send out Valentine's Day and Easter cards because I love to make picture cards!
2) I try to make the card a few weeks ahead of time--sometimes birthday sneak up on me and it's just a few days in advance
3) I usually specifically make a card for the occasion, but I try to have a few on hand just in case I run out of time.

1) The majority of the cards I send out are for Christmas, Birthdays and Thank Yous. I also keep cards on hand for cheering up, Just Because, and Sympathy.
2) Christmas cards are purchased in January of that year. Other holiday cards (Easter, Halloween, Valentines, St. Patty, and Thanksgiving) are purchased one month in advance.
3) Both. Birthday cards are purchased in advance and set aside for a specific person. I also keep a huge stock of "everyday" cards.

I purchase birthday cards, valentine's cards, Christmas cards, anniversary cards, thank you cards, and get well soon cards. Sometimes I just stock up as much as a year in advance; otherwise, from etsy, I buy them about 3 weeks in advance to give them enough time to reach me.

I prefer buying blank cards so I can use them whenever... I do buy holiday cards though, but usually not because I'm searching for them but because I stumble on them.

2) How far in advance do you shop for cards for a specific occasion (Valentines, Easter, Mother's Day, Christmas, etc..)?

About 1-2 weeks, last minute! :)

3) Do you buy cards just to keep on hand or specifically for an occasion?

I buy lots of BLANK CARDS to keep on hand-- I do buy occasion cards, but dar & away most are blank so I can use them whenever.
