Designs by Lucy

Notes from the Artist:
I love to make cards and jewellery so this card is the natural progression of these two passions. It is a versatile design and can be made to suit any girls style and for any age, I have had an order for a Gucci style bag and i have also made one clad in denim fabric rather than fancy paper. Next step a briefcase for the boys!

Kiwi Punch Designs

Notes from the Artist:
I make a lot of everyday cards. "No-special-event-needed" cards. They're my favourite kind because they are such a joy to receive in the mail! They send the message: "I know today is not your birthday or a holiday, but I was thinking of you anyway, because you're special!"

BopDotDesigns

Notes from the Artist:
This is a blank card set that descibes my paper work perfectly. I like simple organic shapes with bold, earthy, or bright colors all mixed together. I like to hand cut the shapes in beautiful papers with an exacto blade. I have layered the card with colors and left this interior blank for your own creativity and usage. I also really enjoy playing with the textures of my cards. I invite you to take a look at some of the other paper products on Bop Dot. There will be many more designs to come.

Sweetpea Cards Gifts

Notes from the Artist:
I love working with, the feeling and the choices and variety paper brings to my art. When I traveled to Japan I spent hours in the all the paper shops I found. They have incredable paper and use it as wonderful art mediums. That was 11 years ago and where my paper addiction started.

Bemi Designs

Notes from the Artist:
My hope is that others can treasure my cards as much as I enjoy making them. I love all types of paper, and specifically those with beautiful and colorful patters, and making cards is a way to deal with this addiction. I see my cards as mini works of art that you can keep or pass on to a friend to brighten their day. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

sparklepants industries

Notes from the Artist:
in a world of emails and evites, i decided to start a papergoods company. hmmmf, go figure. most of my items have some sort of re-used elements in them... my giant box of scraps is my first go-to place, while my business cards are made of paint chips from home depot. (not to mention all the old books i cut up to use). so i do really, really try to re-use anything i have lying around.

this card however, is my take on recycling... no better way than to actually re-use the card itself! it's 10 thank you notes in 1!!! it has a mini pad of paper on the inside for you to write your message on. when the recipient receives it, they should save it. then, when they need to send a thank you note, they tear off your message and write their own on the next sheet. each sheet has a hand drawn drawing as well as each envelope, to match the front of the card.

Erealm Photo

Notes from the Artist:
This specific set of cards I created from a photograph I took in May when the magnolia tree next to my house was blooming. By profession, I am a graphic artist and have a Masters Degree in graphic design. I just started the card creations in February 2007, together with my prints. My recent additions to the shop include mirrors and buttons of my prints.

Zevin Creations

Notes from the Artist:
ZeVin Creations very own Maranda designed a special card just for the awareness of women issues - "The Caring Woman". Each female silhoutte is made from various handmade papers layered upon a coordinating solid paper for the respective cause (Purple-Leukemia, Teal-Ovarian Cancer, Pink-Breast Cancer). The silhoutte is adorned with random silk flowers and sometimes a ribbon joined via a heart shaped brad. ZeVin Creations will donate 50% of our purple Awareness card sales to co-owner Marisa Babbage's efforts for Kentuckiana's Team In Training which is to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Galacards

Notes from the Artist:
I love using various mediums in my cards. The messier the process the prettier the result. :) I joined Etsy in May 2007 after finding it by accident. I also design for a local stamp store and I am preparing to teach some evening classes. I attend CHA conventions and I've been fortunate to meet and work with many stamp manufacturers. I use only the best products in all my cards.
I think Etsy card makers possess a quality that commercial greeting card manufacturers can not capture, the touch of love. After all, in order to be good at what you do you have to love it!

Four Dots Design

Notes from the Artist:
I've been creating, venturing in all sorts of arts and crafts my entire life and it's what truly makes me happy. I started making cards (not just for friends and family) about two years ago and I love it, I have so much fun with it. Each card, to me, is a tiny work of art no matter how simple or complex the design is. And best of all, I like that "Just for You" feel of a handmade card, it makes the recipient feel extra special.

Epso Uh-Oh!

Notes from the Artist:
When creating cards, I try to keep things light and fresh, without being cutesy. I like to mix different patterns together. My designs are a straight reflection of my personality, sometimes quirky and eclectic and sometimes modern and streamlined. This design was originally made when my sister asked me to make a card for her to bring to a baby shower. I liked the design so much that I decided to make it in both a girl and a boy style!

Empty George

Notes from the Artist:
This set is perfect for simple correspondence with a friend. The bee is reminiscent of summer days past, but the colors are all about fall. I have to say I just love the color chartreuse. Just saying it out loud makes me smile a little. (Yes I'm talking to myself and smiling)

DirtroadSisters

Notes from the Artist:
As long as I can remember, I have enjoyed going to the mailbox to retrieve the day’s post. I recall my letter writing beginning in the fourth grade with a pen-pal from New York. Notes in class and love-letters were always fun throughout school. While away at college, I frequently wrote letters back home to family and friends. Now, I especially enjoy writing those loved ones who are in different parts of the country.

I am afraid that letter-writing is becoming a lost art-in fact the practice of writing personal letters is diminishing to such an extent that they threaten to become extinct! While e-mail has certainly made keeping in touch more convenient, it will never replace the thought and time put into a penned note. A hand-written note means that someone has put time and effort into crafting a personal message to you,

Hand-written gestures have always served as a source of encouragement to my spirit. It is those simple, quiet, and humble, behind the scenes, little deeds, and words of kindness that make a POWERFUL impact! In the Bible, Paul was constantly writing letters to the congregations that they might gain a sense of encouragement. His letters, like the ones we all love to receive, are the ones that carry so much of the writer’s personality that he seems to be sitting beside us and chatting with us.

I hope you gain as much enjoyment from using my papers as I did designing and hand-crafting each one.

electrikolor

Notes from the Artist:
I've been making cards for use myself FOREVER, and now I'm sharing them with you! All of the cards in my ElectriKolor shop on Etsy are from original photographs and have been digitally enhanced to suit my design and color sense. The curious cats in this card set were more than willing to unintentionally pose for the camera--such cuties! I love sharing my photographic creations with everyone, and knowing that they bring smiles to lots of faces brings one to mine, too!

Honey and Bliss

Notes from the Artist:
I started listing greeting cards recently. My focus is on handpainted cards done in a traditional Chinese brush painting style. I use ink on rice paper. (Although technically rice paper is a misnomer. It's not made out of rice so it's not edible!).

Iva Art

Notes from the Artist:
This is my favorite set in the shop at the moment because of the subject matter. I have been working on capturing the concept of 'a moment in time' for the last two years through my blog and art work. This set represents early summer full of promise and adventure. One image is capturing flowers I received for a special occasion and the other 2 are from a wonderful hike in the woods. All of my work, including my cards, represent moments of my life.

Magnolia Grace

Notes from the Artist:
Sometimes a mistake can turn out to be exactly what you wanted. This design was originally supposed to be completely solid, but for some reason, the screen that I created for it didn't turn out solid. Instead, it created small areas where the ink didn't go through. I ended up loving the design though because of its vintage, tattered feel.

Simply Susan

Notes from the Artist:
I've loved making cards for friends and family for as long as I can remember. It's really great to be able to share my designs with even more people now. It's wonderful to get feedback about how much the recipient really enjoyed or was so touched by one of my cards!

Smack of Jellyfish

Notes from the Artist:
"If you were an octopus..." this card reads, "I would grow eight arms to hold you." This is the first in what will become a series of loving cards. I have some dark humor cards in my store as well, so this is the softer side of smackofjellyfish. I drew this octopus in charcoal while sipping tea on my houseboat in Alaska. I then digitally added some background color and the text. Smack of Jellyfish started as a project to illustrate collective nouns for animals (an army of ants, a flutter of butterflies, a murder of crows, etc.); I delight in quirky knowledge! So on the back of the octopus card, I included facts about octopi. Did you know that they will collect shells and other objects to adorn their underwater lairs? Fantastic!

JMillen Graphic Designs

Notes from the Artist:
The picture was taken of my daughter and her friends after they graduated
high school last year. I had just finished chemo treatment and the tight
bond they share was an inspiration for the card, because my friends and
family helped me through such a difficult time.

Miscelena Handmade Papercrafts

Notes from the Artist:
Born into a family full of crafty (in the best sense!) women, my mother taught me the value of a hand-written greeting when I was barely able to form the letters. By day, I'm blessed to work with color and form as a commercial interior designer; late at night and on the weekends, my enthusiasm for papercrafts - handmade cards and other remembrances - is still going strong. The button at the heart of this butterfly came from my grandmother's old button box!

Yellow Dog Cards

Notes from the Artist:
I love making cards. I really enjoy the process of creating them and them seeing other people enjoy them. I think this is one of my favorite cards because I was really happy how it turned out.

Tag Your It

Notes from the Artist:
I try to create cards that will appeal to every age group and that is why I chose this birthday card because it has a funky "urban-edge" to it but yet it's still feminine!

Notes from the Artist:
I create my cards to be unique, fun and personal just so it might excite people about sending more snail mail in this day & age of email & text messaging.

Postcard Lady

Notes from the Artist:
This is one of my favorite cards. Each card I make is a little different as I do not use patterns, so even if I remake one , it will not be exactly the same. I am going to also send one of my little wall quilts url. I just start from scratch on those and I am never sure what will come out. I love doing small quitled art. I have a hard time sending these urls so that is why I am doing 2 replies. I work part time 4 days a week, keep my great grandaughter a few days, and have a standing art project I do in the winter (first Sat of the month in Dunedin) Called Art on Broadway. I am doing a few draft shows this winter also and Auntie Frannie and I will join forces on 3. It should be fun.

keepitmagickal

Notes from the Artist:
The reason I picked this card was I love the texture of the material, and the design of the stamp. It's perfect for a Halloween card or just to put some extra magic into someone's day.
